Next assignment

• Visual Homework assignment: Create a visual or performative work - a "machine" that celebrates OR protects your doppleganger's desires. (Sculpture, drawing, painting, performance, video, movement, song, sound-work, visual story, etc.)

Deleuze & Guattari's definition of a machine: something that acts upon something else to produce a change (one machine is always coupled with another). Due March 11 - this is a two-week long project. We will discuss the work in progress next week.

Also next week will be a reading discussion on the two David Lynch Films:"The Art of the Ridiculous Sublime: On David Lynch's Lost Highway", by Slavoj Zizek; and "In Dreams: A review of Mulholland Drive" by Maximillian Le Cain. We will also discuss the reading you were given the week before: Ludwig Wittgenstein, "Subject" and "The Doubling of Reality" from the book, The Essential Wittgenstein. (I will do a short powerpoint on Wittgenstein)
